King Of The Pride 4
“March Mayhem” is the title name for the 4th edition of King of the Pride Amateur Boxing Championship.
The 4th installment of The King Of The Pride hosted by Lion’s Head Boxing Academy in Bangkok revealed itself as one of the best organized amateur western boxing events in the last 5 years.
With a wide array of new boxers coming from all around the world the night saw 10 beautiful undercards perfectly matched and incredibly entertaining.
The M.C. for the night, Mr.Dana Blouin (Asian MMA Podcast), accompanied the audience thru every fight all the way to the main event: Raffael Fleming (Boxer Rebellion Bangkok) VS Kevin Gronlund (Lion’s Head Boxing Gym).

Rafael and Kevin already fought at the BBB1 event in July 2018 where Kevin came out victorious.
This year Rafael prepared himself to win his rematch but Kevin greatly improved his technical and resistance game and gave to his opponent a pretty hard time in more than a few occasions.
At the end of the 4th and final round, Kevin Gronlund was declared Champion of the King Of The Pride 4, by Unanimous Decision.
After been an underdog and struggling at the elite level in AIBA in Europe for 5 years, Kevin sustained too many losses and serious injuries for making it to the Olympics.
Top specialists on joints injuries told him to quit, but he found 1 doctor that accepted to help and understood that Kevin didn’t want to give up boxing.
So he passed 2 years of injury with no punching and only training footwork and body movements.
Beating the odds from the doctors, Kevin got back in fight shape and last summer was back in the ring for his first victories.
The fact that now he will go in PRO Boxing is like a dream for his whole family.
Two years of hard work and boring exercises have finally paid off!
The night saw a crowded Lion’s Head Gym with fans of the boxers in a fun environment among with great respect and sportsmanship from both sides of the ring.
It was a great night of boxing, celebrating fight sports, networking and getting together to witness the next generation of upcoming boxers.
Head Coach and Founder of the Lion’s Head Gym, Jay R Crisologo is doing a great job by providing a good platform for this new generation.
